Work Plan (Agenda Item 6)
The Panel considered its work plan with particular reference to the following topics:-
(i) What makes a child vulnerable:
(ii) Transport for young people:
Members discussed the withdrawal of service no. 121 and the consequent difficulties this would present to children and young people living in the Churchill, Langford and Winford areas. It was agreed to refer this to the Executive Member responsible and to the Policy and Scrutiny Panel to see what could be done as a matter of urgency to ensure that public transport services remained available in these rural areas.

(iv) Local Area Agreement Targets and Youth Provision:
Concluded: that the work plan be updated and agreed.
Additionally it was,
Recommended to the Executive Member for Strategic Planning and Economic Development and the Strategic Planning and Economic Development Policy and Scrutiny Panel: that this Panel expresses its very great concern about the planned withdrawal of service 121 and the effect of this on the children and young people living in the Churchill, Langford and Winford areas. Consequently, the Panel would urge that the officers be requested to secure a replacement service for this route as a matter of some urgency.
