Election of Chairman for the meeting (Agenda item 1)

 

            Resolved: that Councillor Tonkin be elected as chairman for the meeting.

Adoption of hearing procedures (Agenda item 4)

 

            Resolved: that the hearing procedures be adopted.

LA 2003 Application for variation of premises licence: The Imperial Brasserie, 14 South Parade, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1JN (Agenda item 5)

 

The Director of Development & Environment reported on an application for variation of an existing premises licence.

 

The Sub-Committee considered a representation from a local resident expressing concerns about the prevention of crime and disorder and the prevention of public nuisance.

 

Resolved: that the variation be granted as applied for, subject to the agreed amended conditions proposed by the Avon & Somerset Constabulary Licensing Team and the North Somerset Council Environmental Health Team.

Application for street trading consent: M&D Snacks, Coker Road, Weston-super-Mare BS22 6BX (Agenda item 6)

 

The Director of Development & Environment reported on an application for

Grant of a street trading consent.

 

The Sub-Committee heard from the applicant regarding the kind of food & drink that would be served. The Sub-Committee members had before them photographs of the vehicle, the location and the application form.

 

The Sub-Committee considered a written representation from a local business who had objected to the application on the grounds that the proposal was not suitable for the location.

 

Resolved: that the application be granted as applied for.

LA 2003 Application for grant of a premises licence: Weston-super-Mare Market 51-53 Meadow Street, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1QJ (Agenda item 7)

 

The Director of Development & Environment reported on an application for

a street trading consent.

 

The Sub-Committee heard from the applicant and his agent and also heard from the Public Health Officer who had made a representation against the grant of the premises licence.

Resolved: that the application be granted as applied for, subject to the following modification:

 

5.      Receipts and invoices for all tobacco and alcohol products stored in relation to the business, and sold in the premises, must be retained for a rolling period of 12 calendar months, kept within a readily accessible file, and must be made available upon immediate and reasonable request by any Police Officer, Customs Officer or other ‘authorised person’ as defined by S.13 of the Licensing Act 2003.
